Thrushes

What's the meaning behind the band's name?
It was very important for us to find a band name that embodied the best that we were making and a lovely songbird seemed the perfect fit.

How the band started??
We had all been involved in the Baltimore all ages scene when we were younger and stopped playing music for a while to pursue school and work.  Luckily we found each other again and all had a desire to play music again.

What's the message to transmit with your music??
It's very important for us to make an emotional connection with our listeners through our music.

What's your method at the time of writting a song??
We typically start jamming on a riff or phrase and build the song from there.  For us melody and dynamics are a very important component of the music.  Lyrics many times happen spontaneosly with the mood and direction of the music

Which is your music influences??
I think as we get older we tend to fall back on bands that we listened to growing up.  Mainly bands that we listened to in high school in the 90's like sonic youth, mazzy star, dinosaur jr, as well as classic girl groups from the 60's.

What plans do you guys have for the future??
Hopefully make some more records and get to play places that we've never been to before.

Which has been the funniest prank you guys have been or took part while on tour or after a show??
Nothing too crazy at shows, but during recording we convinced our drummer that the studio was haunted!

If you guys were stranded in the middle of nowhere after a show or while on tour. The help is 65 miles away from where you guys are, ¿Who would you guys send to look for help? It would probaly be me who would go for help as I tend to be the most level headed.  And if while the rest wait, there's no food and the only way to feed yourself is by eating each other, ¿Who would you eat first?
We would eat Rachel because she is very sweet and has supple and tender muscles.

Which country you guys would love to play?
Japan!

With which bands you guys would love to share stage??
Sonic Youth, The Raveonettes (again!), Jesus and Mary Chain!

Are you guys OK, with the direction the band is going actually?
Very, thanks!!
