Low Life Music
What's the meaning behind the band's name?
Low Life Music came from people calling us and our friends low life's so we embraced it ... now we make low life music!
How the band started??
The band started when the hip hop act J-King and DJ Souless met punk band Brodii Split (Joe, Dan, and Kenny). We all started jamming together and writing songs together so we fused both groups and formed LLM.
What's the message you guys want to transmit with your music??
We're spreading a positive message with our music. Were all about having fun and getting the party started, but we also want to inspire people to rise up from the low life to the high life!
What's your method at the time of writting a song??
Joe Brodii usually starts with a guitar riff or vocal melody, then band will give the song a basic structure and J-King will write his lyrics. We are also currently writing new music with our producer Jim Perkins (Big B, Scott Russo).
Which is your music influences??
We all come from different backgrounds culturally and musically so we have pretty diverse taste which I think helps us creatively. But for the most part Hip Hop and Punk Rock bands like Atmoshpere, Eminem, Sublime, and NOFX.
What plans do you guys have for the future??
Were working on our album right now to be released in the spring / summer of 2011. Were also playing shows around the Southern California area. Our goals for the not to distant future would be to get a major label record deal and tour the world.
Which has been the funniest prank you guys have been or took part while on tour or after a show??
One time we tarred and feathered our bass player!
If you guys were stranded in the middle of nowhere after a show or while on tour. The help is 65 miles away from where you guys are, ¿Who would you guys send to look for help? And if while the rest wait, there's no food and the only way to feed yourself is by eating each other, ¿Who would you eat first?
We would definitely send Dan for help because he claims to be able to fight off a mountain lion. If we had to start grubbing on band members we'd have to go with J-King cause he looks the tastiest, but Kenny would have a hard time with it cause he's a vegetarian.
Which country you guys would love to play?
We'd love to play and country in the UK, Asian, or South America!
With which bands you guys would love to share stage??
It'd be fun to share the stage with Linkin Park, Gym Class Heroes, or the Dirty Heads.
Are you guys OK, with the direction the band is going actually?
We're really excited with the way the bands going... we've only been together for about a year and a half and already a lot of good things have come our way! Please check us out and hit us up at www.lowlifemusic.com
