Tinted Image

What's the meaning behind the band's name?
Tinted Image is kind of like something we perceive to be a predetermined image in your mind but when you actually see it, it's different or "Tinted" It's kind of how we feel about our music. It's slightly "Tinted" and hopefully a sound you have never heard before.

How the band started??
The band was actually started in high school with two original members (Matt Merritt and Joel Vickers) who played together in a jazz ensemble. The two became friends and kept the music rolling ever since. The band has since evolved into a pop and acoustic rock band.

What's the message to transmit with your music??
Many things in life seem like they are impossible to achieve. We like to believe that "you will never know unless you try" as a message for our music. We are always trying out new ideas in an effort to make great music.

What's your method at the time of writting a song??
It truly is a collaborative effort and the overall sound/flavor comes from a blend of all the musicians in the band and their music history or strengths. Lyrics usually come from Alyssa Coco. The boys create the music!

Which is your music influences??
Ingrid Michaelson, John Mayer, Colbie Callait, Trevor Hall, Jason Mraz, and Dave Matthews.

What plans do you guys have for the future??
More than a plan we have a dream to be a national recording and touring artist. Short term is to package and tour with a national. Also, we're working on getting songs placed in TV and film. Our ultimate goal is to wake up every morning and be able to play music, and make a living off of it.

Which has been the funniest prank you guys have been or took part while on tour or after a show??
On of our band members once had to use the bathroom really band while in traffic in NYC. He jumped out of our van and thought we would wait….And we didn't. He spent the day wandering in NYC without a phone. We found him later in the same spot he decided to jump out 5 hours later….

If you guys were stranded in the middle of nowhere after a show or while on tour. The help is 65 miles away from where you guys are, ¿Who would you guys send to look for help? And if while the rest wait, there's no food and the only way to feed yourself is by eating each other, ¿Who would you eat first?
Send Matt to find help because 65 miles is a walk in the park for him, and while waiting we'd probably roast Levi because he smells really good all the time.

Which country you guys would love to play?
Anywhere in the UK would be cool. The people there really seem to appreciate and enjoy music outside of the gimmicky pop culture that America is so hung up on.

With which bands you guys would love to share stage??\
The Fray, John Mayer, Dave Matthews, The Script, and U2

Are you guys OK, with the direction the band is going actually?
Yes every month we get more excited about whats to come! We're exploring the pop/rock sounds but no matter how deep we go there's a funky/jazz sound that cant be erased. Mainly due to the fact that we are a pop band with a sax player. Not a horn section. Unlike most rock groups that have two guitars we have guitar and sax trading on and off with the lead parts.
