Forgetting Midnight
What's the meaning behind the band's name?
The band name "Forgetting Midnight" is a way of expressing new beginnings. We feel that once the clock hits midnight it's a new day and you can welcome a brand new chance for life. So in essence the name pretty much means forgetting all your problems and transgressions to welcome a new chance at life.
How the band started??
The band actually began a few years ago under the name Unlabeled Theory and than we broke up. About a year ago we decided to give it another shot being that we are in better places in our personal lives and it has been a great road ever since we got back together. We are more dedicated and hardworking than ever before and we havent let anything stand in our way.
What's the message to transmit with your music??
I believe each song has it's own message and i try to get that message across through telling a story. A lot of people ask me (Manny, Lead singer) if the song pertains to my personal life but in actuality none of my songs have anything to do with me personally they are more just stories i come up with in my head and express through music.
What's your method at the time of writting a song??
Writing is one of the hardest and easiest things for me (Manny, Lead singer). There are times where i can have writers block for months and not write a thing, but than when i do write i seem to be able to create over 10 songs to work with and compose with the other members of the band. One of my biggest ways of defeating my writers block is usually in the shower lol.
Which is your music influences??
There are SO many influences in the music we write because the members of the band come from such a wide variety of musical backgrounds. There are songs that are influenced by musicians like Blink 182, Greenday, Goo Goo Dolls, and even bringing in some classic rock influences on guitar methods.
What plans do you guys have for the future??
At the moment our main concentration is the completion of our first full length record being produced by Jerry Farley. Once that is complete our big goal is to work on getting booked for the North East tier of shows for Warped Tour 2011, but we're always dreaming big and doing everything in our power to make those dreams come true.
Which has been the funniest prank you guys have been or took part while on tour or after a show??
We haven't yet had the experience of going on a full tour yet but we are constantly cracking jokes on one another, from driving away to a show with out one of the guys to make him feel like we left him behind to just plain making fun of one another.
If you guys were stranded in the middle of nowhere after a show or while on tour. The help is 65 miles away from where you guys are, ¿Who would you guys send to look for help? And if while the rest wait, there's no food and the only way to feed yourself is by eating each other, ¿Who would you eat first?
I believe we would totally send Demian (drummer) for help because he enjoys walking long distances but if we had to choose who to eat first it would probably be me (Manny, Lead singer) or Anthony (bassist) because we are the biggest guys in the band lol.
Which country you guys would love to play?
A really big dream of ours is to play England, we all feel the same way that Europe boasts some of the biggest music lovers in the world.
With which bands you guys would love to share stage? We'd love to go on tour with plenty of bands but some select bands would be Greenday, Alkaline Trio, or After Midnight Project.
Are you guys OK, with the direction the band is going actually?
One of the biggest things we love in this band is there are no arguements and 150% communication, the direction the band is going in has been one of the things that has kept us going everyday. We are very proud of what we've accomplished in such a short time and we know the future holds very big plans for Forgetting Midnight.
