Science Hill

What's the meaning behind the band's name?
Science Hill is a small town in Pulaski County, KY. Dave and Jeff had been there on business and both liked the name and decided if the opporunity ever came up to use it as a band name they would.

How the band started??
Each member came from other bands that hadn't gone in the direction they wanted. The goal with Science Hill was to do things the right way from the beginning and get to where they wanted to be.

What's the message to transmit with your music??
To stay positive, love life and love those who love you.

What's your method at the time of writting a song??
Dave or Jeff will bring the music for a song to rehearsal, the band jams on it and learns it. The group as a whole then tweaks and rearranges or rewrites anything that doesn't quite feel right and then Jeff takes it home and puts lyrics to it.

Which is your music influences??
We all have a lot of different ones. Collectively we all like Incubus, 311, Huey Lewis, Primus, Jimmy Buffett. Barnes enjoys Pantera and Van Halen. Chris likes Hall & Oates and a lot of 80s stuff. Jeff likes Band Of Horses and Genesis. Dave likes Steely Dan and Billy Joel.

What plans do you guys have for the future??
The ultimate goal is to get signed again and that is what we are working towards.

Which has been the funniest prank you guys have been or took part while on tour or after a show??
One of the best ones was when we were on tour and staying in Tea Neck, NJ with Jeff's aunt and uncle. It was April Fool's Day 2009. The neighborhood was nice but apparently the neighbors are nosey and very stingy and will complain about just about anything. Jeff was asleep inside his aunt and uncle's house and the rest of the band slept on the bus in their driveway. Around 3am Jeff gets a call from the other 3 guys saying, "Come out to the bus, the cops keep driving by and shining lights at the bus, I think they're gonna get out and check us out, you gotta get out here since it's your family's place". So Jeff drags ass out of bed and out to the bus and climbs on to the boys saying, "Yeah they keep driving by real slow and staring at us" and then they turned the lights on saying, "April Fool's!". Got most of the whole thing on video. It was pretty solid.

Which country you guys would love to play?
Anywhere that will welcome us. Specifically we'd love to play Europe or Australia.

Incubus, 311, Pepper, We Are Scientists

Are you guys OK, with the direction the band is going actually?
Absolutely. Every step is a step toward progress.
